World War II mine made safe at Kinsale harbour

A World War 2 mine brought ashore at Kinsale harbour last night has been made safe by the Army Bomb Disposal Unit.

The unexploded mine was discovered after getting caught in a fishing net in the waters off Kilrush. The fishing vessel brought the mine ashore at the main slip in Kinsale.

Gardai cordoned off the area until the Army Bomb Disposal Unit arrived and made the bomb safe.
