Temporary swimming prohibition notice at Blackrock and Seapoint

A temporary prohibition notice against swimming at Seapoint and Blackrock has been issued by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

Results from water quality tests taken on Tuesday along this stretch of the coast showed high levels of Enterococci and E. Coli.

The cause of these high levels is unknown and an investigation into the levels has commenced.

More samples have been taken and results are expected back next Monday the 16th January. If the results are acceptable the temporary prohibition will be removed.
