Refurbished Portumna Harbour Reopens with Great Tourism Expectations

The newly refurbished Portumna Harbour and Amenity Park was officially opened yesterday by OPW Minister Sean Canney TD.

The €750k project involving improvements to the harbour and onshore work was developed by Waterways Ireland, Galway County Council and the OPW.

New facilities to the harbour include a doubling of mooring capacity at the marina, upgrades of current berths, new services for camper vans and generally better access. It’s hoped these upgraded facilities will provide a significant boost to tourism in Portumna and the surrounding area.
