Open to visitors | French Naval ship in Dublin this weekend

The French Naval frigate Provence will be visiting Dublin Port this weekend.

The Aquitaine-class multipurpose frigate will be sailing into the Port on Friday and will be open to the public to have a look around on Saturday.

French Naval ship

The Provence is one of three active multiple-purpose frigates in the French Naval fleet. These ships are equipped to operate during anti-submarine missions and equipped with all the latest technology including variable depth sonar, bow mounted sonar, MU90 torpedoes, NH90 helicopter fitted with buoys and flash sonar.

With a length of 142 m and weight of 6,000 tonnes, it’s a pretty impressive ship to behold and definitely worth checking out.

If you’re keen to take a look around the ship it will be open to the public on Saturday morning at 10am. To book a place send an email to the French Embassy at presse@ambafrance-ie.org
