An exciting new photography exhibition entitled “A Maritime History of County Wexford Through Photographs” was launched yesterday evening at the Rosslare Harbour Maritime Heritage Centre.
The exhibition was officially open last night by Councillor Jim Moore to a packed room in the Maritime Heritage Centre in Rosslare. The exhibition is free to the public and will run for six weeks from 2pm-6pm each day.
The photographs are taken from the well known local historian and author John Power and portray the fascinating history of the Wexford coastline from Courtown to New Ross. The photos will take you on a journey through Wexford’s shipping history featuring the sailing vessels and steamships that frequented the harbour. It will also tell the story young Wexford man who joined the British Navy to fight in the First World War.
The exhibition will run until 21st of May so be sure to check out this fascinating insight into Wexford’s Maritime history.
