Hooked Seafood Festival Killybegs returns this weekend (September 1st) for a celebration of seafood, traditional seafaring and maritime heritage at Ireland’s premier fishing port in Donegal.
Now in its fourth year the takes place at LYIT Killybegs and features a number of stalls, exhibitions, and demonstrations showcasing the best of local seafood. Taste the delights of local Donegal seafood and discover the history of the town and the port, the boats and the marine life with interactive displays.
As part of the festival will be the exciting Donegal Chowder Cook-Off – a hotly contested event which will see the winner take their place in the All Ireland Final in Kinsale in 2019.
If you want to begin your own journey to become a seafood master don’t miss out on the cooking demonstrations and filleting masterclasses. There will also be lots of seafood to sample with an array of the tastiest seafood from the sea to the shore.
There will also be plenty of other activities including the sea-lebrity tucker trail, kayaking, and extreme VR to give you a taste of some exhilarating water sports without having to get wet!
