US Naval Destroyer USS Donald Cook arrived into Cobh’s deep water quay yesterday morning.
For the duration of the courtesy visit a high security exclusion zone will be in place.

USS Donald Cook is an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer and is named for Medal of Honor recipient Colonel Donald Cook.

The Port of Cork’s Harbour Master, Captain Paul O’Regan has issued a notice to all mariners in Cork of a high security 50m exclusion zone will be in place in Cobh until Saturday. Members of the public will be prohibited from accessing the deep water quay for the duration of the naval ships visit.
The Irish Naval Service and An Garda Síochána will monitor the exclusion zone. It will be lifted after the USS Donald Cook departs on Saturday.
