The Finnish naval ship FNS Hämeenmaa will be visiting Dublin this week from 24th to the 27th of May. While in port the vessel will be open to the public on Wednesday evening to have a look around.
FNS Hämeenmaa is the flagship of the Finnish Navy and one of two Hämeenmaa-class minelayers. The Dublin Port visit is part an annual training expedition to the Baltic Sea, North Sea and the Atlantic.
This year marks the centenary of Finland’s independence and to celebrate there will be the unique chance to visit the FNS Hämeenmaa and take a look around with an open ship event. The ship will be open to the public on Wednesday 24th May from 17.00 -18.30 at Sir John Rogerson’s Quay.
Two French Navy ships, Tigre and Leopard, are also due into Dublin Port this week.
