Take a trip to the sunny south-east to the beautiful fishing village of Dunmore East this weekend and enjoy the Dunmore Harbour Festival (18th – 19th May).
There will be a really fantastic programme of fun events and activities – this is what maritime festivals are all about, a celebration of local life and history in one of Ireland’s great harbour villages!
The two-day line up is full of great events including boat trips around the harbour, guided coastal walks, markets, funfair, live music, treasure hunts, yoga at the lighthouse and much more!
The main stage will be down near the Sailing Club in Dunmore East over the Harbour Festival weekend (this coming weekend). That is where all the action will be…food stalls, brass bands, music…Roll on the weekend. All aboard #DHF2019 #DunmoreEast #VisitWaterford pic.twitter.com/jMKtMpBozt

Some of the highlights of the weekend include tours of the research vessel MV Keary. The Keary is an Irish research vessel used for inshore surveying and has been used as part of the INFOMAR programme in Irish water and part of the CHERISH programme.
This is a great opportunity to have a look around the vessel and see how the surveyors work and live on board.
To celebrate #EuropeanMaritimeDay and Dunmore East Harbour Festival, join us and INFOMAR on 18th and 19th May to board the RV Keary and learn about marine surveying and our rich coastal heritage. #EMDinmycountry #DHF2019 pic.twitter.com/zinCL9bNPK
