Dunmore East Harbour Festival

The lovely Dunmore East, Waterford Maritime celebrations at Dunmore Harbour Festival 18th – 19th May

There will be a really fantastic programme of fun events and activities – this is what maritime festivals are all about, a celebration of local life and history in one of Ireland’s great harbour villages!

The two-day line up is full of great events including boat trips around the harbour, guided coastal walks, markets, funfair, live music, treasure hunts, yoga at the lighthouse and much more!

Some of the highlights of the weekend include tours of the research vessel MV Keary. The Keary is an Irish research vessel used for inshore surveying and has been used as part of the INFOMAR programme in Irish water and part of the CHERISH programme.

This is a great opportunity to have a look around the vessel and see how the surveyors work and live on board.

Hook’s Crookes will be holding a concert in St Andrews Church and it will be an evening of folk songs, songs from the sea and poetry readings from Ireland, Norway and the Netherlands.

The Rosslare Maritime Enthusiasts will be holding a photography exhibition not to be missed. Waterford Harbour Sailing club will be holding a talk series on subjects ranging from health and wellness and history.

Don’t miss out of tours of Dunmore East Lighthouse, built by Scottish Engineer, Alexander Nimmo.
