World Record Attempt | Rock the Boat for Achill RNLI at Dooagh Day

As part of the Dooagh Day festival there will be a Guinness world record attempt to ‘Rock the Boat’ in aid of the Achill RNLI.

dooagh rock the boat world record attempt

The festival is looking for 1702 people to get down and rock the boat to beat the current record set in 2013 in Carrick-on-Shannon. The recording breaking attempt will take place on Sunday 9th July at 2pm at Dooagh Dock.

The Dooagh Day festival was established two years ago to bring the community together and celebrate the heritage, history and people of the Achill Island village. The village recently made the headlines when a beach that has washed away 30 years ago miraculously returned over night!

As well as the world record attempt there will be a load of other great events including live music, fun and games, currach racing, seafood and lots more. Definitely a great excuse to head to Achill for the weekend!
