The Dalkey Lobster, one of the year’s most eagerly anticipated seafood festivals, returns this month on the 26th – 28th with its typically excellent mix of lobster, crab & all that jazz!
The backdrop to the festival is the picturesque heritage town of Dalkey which is known for its high quality restaurants and excellent food. Be assured they won’t disappoint and will have the crème de la crème of fresh seafood for all to enjoy.
The lobster festival is the perfect fusion of the best local food, top jazz acts and great entertainment. Thousands are expected to flock to the streets of Dalkey to enjoy the great food and a range of fun family friendly activities including bouncy castles, cooking demos and magic shows.
There will be plenty of musical entertainment all weekend. The streets will be buzzing with Jamie Duff and Andrew Mann taking to the stage the Gig rig. Mary Coughlan, Declan Murray, MacFleetwood, Paddy Sherlock and Rob Strong will be playing in the Tramyard. And there will be top jazz acts playing at bars and restaurants throughout the town.
There’s plenty to keep the kids happy with puppet show, magic show, dancing and crazy golf as well as the firm highlight the Lobster Festival Parade on Sunday afternoon.
The festival is also for a great cause. This year the festival will be supporting the Down Syndrome Centre, Ireland’s only services-led centre for children with Down Syndrome.
*** Unfortunately the some of the events taking place in the Tramyard and the Kidszone have been cancelled. There will still be plenty of events and free music gigs happening around the town. Check out their Facebook page for the latest updates ***
