We love sharing great charity fundraising efforts like this!
Last week three brothers Niall, Dermot and Conor Meehan, along with his son Michael, got together and did something pretty amazing for the Irish Cancer Society. Over two days they swam in the sea in every coastal county in Ireland, all told they ventured into the water at seventeen beaches and piers around Ireland.
With a gruelling two day schedule in hand the team had a great challenge but also a fantastic adventure ahead of them.
They started at the crack of dawn last Saturday morning with the first dip taking place at Dublin’s Forty Foot 5.15am while the rest of us were still tucked away in bed. From there they visited Bettystown, Clogherhead, Bangor, Dunseverick Harbour and Portstewart – all by lunch time! Four more stops that day at Bundoran, Drumfad, Rosses Point and finally Louisburgh/Murrisk in Mayo where they called it a night.
There was an early start for the lads Sunday morning starting at Salthill at 6.30am then off to Clahane, Meenoghanem, Knockadoon, Guilamene, Cahore with the final stop at the Cove in Greystones.
Fair play to all the lads – it sounds like a pretty hectic but rewarding adventure. If you would like to donate to their Irish Cancer Fundraising page, please click here.
