Dalkey’s Bulloch harbour development plans submitted

A plan to develop Dalkeys’s Bulloch harbour with commercial and residential units has been submitted with the planning application posted on the gate of the intended site on Saturday.

The planned development is causing some concern among locals who fear the development will negatively affect the working harbour which has been active since the 12th century and is one of the last small working harbours in county Dublin.

Locals are concerned about the proposed new development; they fear that it could destroy the character of the historic harbour. A group called the Bulloch Harbour Preservation Association, made of up of boat owners, fishermen, harbour users, and local people has formed to keep a watchful eye on the progress of the planned development and make sure that the nature of the harbour remains intact.
