In Baltimore Cork this Weekend, A Wooden Boat Festival, Seafood Festival & Sunshine!

With the warm weather making a most welcome appearance, we officially declare summer is well and truly here! So what better way to spend the weekend than at not one but two amazing festivals in beautiful Baltimore, West Cork.

Coastal Paradise Baltimore at the heart of beautiful West Cork

This weekend sees the return of two of Ireland’s top maritime and seafood festivals – the Baltimore Wooden Boat Festival for all you maritime enthusiasts and for the seafood lovers the Baltimore Seafood Festival.

Watch the magnificent traditional boats sail in the harbour

The Wooden Boat festival is a celebration of the traditional timber sailing boats of Ireland. With a number of races, talks and traditional boats the festival aims to bring back to life this amazing part of our heritage which is often sadly overlooked and forgotten.

From early hide covered boats to the iconic currach and majestic Galway hookers, boat building is an integral part of our heritage and culture. What better way to foster appreciation and keep this ancient tradition alive than with a fantastic festival in west Cork.
