5 reasons Bull Island is a great place to visit

It’s the start of November and what happens? Only the nicest day of the year and that includes those 90 big fats frauds that passed themselves off as Summer days.

This morning Dublin woke up to a Halloween hangover and a thick mist that had settled on the city. And there wasn’t a breath of wind to move it on. But no matter today, the Sun still made it through allowing one of those wonderful days where cool misty air and warmth brought out the best of the Coast. And if you managed to squeeze in a walk on Bull Island (as Coast Monkey happily did) you were in for a treat.

Here’s  5 reasons why Bull Island was the best place in the Ireland to be today.

Lots of Vitamin D to be had

  1. The Sun

Let’s not beat around the bush because this is a big deal. It was the warm Sun that brought the day to life on the first day of Winter. The shorter days are here and when you get a big burst of vitamin D it can really lift your spirits.  We’re all set for the week now the batteries have been recharged.

2. The Mist

The spooky post Halloween mist hung over the whole city. With the Sun getting through it lent a really cool and eerie feeling.

3. Chilled out people

Sometimes great places can get pretty hectic. But Bull Island was so peaceful today. There were lots of people but everyone was chilled and having a great time. I think it being Sunday helped.

4. Watersports

Lots of people out on the water. This is really great to see. People canoeing, swimming, stand up paddling, dipping there toes in and just enjoying the water. Can’t believe it’s November 1st.

5. Great Beach

It really goes on forever.  Dollymount strand had thousands of people on it, yet it still feels like you have the whole place to yourself.

After a day like that, you’re ready and recharged for the week ahead, bring it on! Enjoy your week!
