Watch out! The Vikings are coming to Dun Laoghaire | Sunday 20th August

Dun Laoghaire’s summer of events celebrating the 200th anniversary of the harbour continues this month with a Viking invasion! On Sunday 20th August the Viking hordes will descend on the harbour as part of a day of family fun and historical re-enactment.

The Vikings are coming to Dun Laoghaire | Sunday 20th August

On the pier meet the vicious Vikings in person before they head off to battle. Explore what life was like in the Viking village and get a close up look an iconic longboat on the pier. If you were a fan of the hit tv show Vikings, you can meet the marine services crew from Irish National Sailing & Powerboat School who’ve been working behind the scenes on the show for years.




At 3pm all eyes will be on the water to witness a real life viking invasion as two 36ft longboats invade the east pier and demonstrate a ferocious battle at sea! This is sure to be a summer highlight for families and history buffs alike! Make sure you don’t miss it!
