Uplifting News | Paramedics take Palliative Care Patient to the Beach

It can be hard to define just why the sea has such a powerful effect on us but it can certainly be a life-long love affair.

A pair of Australian paramedics were transporting a patient to the palliative care unit of a local hospital when she mentioned she just wished to see the beach again.

The paramedics decided to take a quick detour to the hospital via the beach, where the woman was propped up in the stretcher so she could see the ocean stretching out from Hervey Bay in Queensland.

In the facebook post the Queensland Ambulance Service wrote about the detour taken by the crew: ‘Above and beyond, the crew took a small diversion to the awesome beach at Hervey Bay to give the patient this opportunity – tears were shed and the patient felt very happy. Sometimes it is not the drugs/training/skills – sometimes all you need is empathy to make a difference!’

Little acts of kindness can really mean the whole world.
