The body of a woman has been recovered on day three of a search off the Clare coastline. On Saturday afternoon the alarm was raised at around 3.30pm after walker’s reported what they thought was a body spotted in the sea off the Cliffs of Moher.
Gardaí and the Irish Coast Guard were quickly dispatched to begin a search operation. Poor weather conditions prevented the Coast Guard from launching their boats.
Rescue helicopter 115 and the Doolin and Aran Islands lifeboat searched the area yesterday but to no avail. The search resumed this morning.
The body was discovered on the shoreline close to Doolin village. It is believed to be that of a Polish women in her 30’s. She was taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
