What a great race it was in the end! Annalise Murphy finished ahead of her medal competition in the final race, achieving a silver medal position overall and doing Ireland immensely proud.
It was a tough series of races but from the start there was no doubting Annalise’s commitment. Keen to do better than London 2012, where she narrowly missed a podium position, it was a perfect mix of skill and determination that propelled her on Tuesday to cap off the 10 race series with a wonderful finish.
An Olympic silver medal was just reward for a brave and commited sailor.
