Mayo teacher’s record breaking barefoot coastal walk

A Mayo teacher has just begun a record breaking 2,000 km walk around the Irish coast for charity. And he’s doing it barefoot.

Eamonn at the start of the epic walk

Starting May 1st, Eamonn Keaveney has set out on a charity walk in aid of Pieta House, the Suicide and Self Harm Crisis Centre. His route will see him walk large parts of the Irish coast and could take him up to three months as he raises funds and awareness for Pieta house. Suicide and Self Harm is an issue that affects every community in Ireland and Eamonn hopes to raise €5,000 for the charity.
