Major search operation begins for missing woman at Ballintoy Harbour

A major air, land and sea search operation is currently underway searching for a woman feared missing from Ballintoy Harbour, Co. Antrim.

Catherine Johnston is in her 30’s and went missing from the East Belfast area yesterday. The search operation began early this morning after they discovered a white Seat Leon that they believed she was travelling in at the harbour.

The search that involves the Ballycastle Coast Guard and Portrush RNLI and a rescue helicopter have so far found nothing.

Police are appealing to anyone with information or who may have seen this white Seat Leon travelling between Belfast and the North Coast to contact them on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 889 13/12/16.
