On this weekend | Get Hooked at Killybegs seafood festival

Hooked Killybegs is just in its second year but it’s already paving the way to be one of the top seafood festivals out there. The festival is run by the Killybegs Community and aims to showcase what the premier fishing port of Killybegs has to offer and to celebrate it’s seafood, traditional seafaring and maritime heritage.

Last year was a big hit and this year plans to be even better. There will be plenty to do with plenty of fish, lots of family fun, chowder competition, filleting demos, food stalls and much more.

See the experts show off their speed and skill in filleting demos. Listen to the storytellers weave tall tales about the sea and the maritime history of Killybegs. Get a look behind the scenes of the local coast guards, learn about what they do and see there boat and gear close up.

The kids will be kept busy with fun and games, street performers and music. And of course there will be plenty of opportunity to feast on all the fish you can eat! The Food Coast Donegal Chowder Cook Off is sure to be a big hit, sample the entries and see who will be crowned champion!

There’s definitely something for everyone so make sure you get down to Killybegs this Saturday 24th Sepetmber to catch all the fun!
