Event Tonight | Illustrated lecture on the Dublin Diving Bell

Come along Wednesday night to this interesting talk at the Poolbeg Yacht Club at 8pm in Ringsend  and discover the story of the Dublin Diving Bell, a true engineering marvel.

From 1871 up until 1858 the diving bell was used to build the port’s quay walls from below the surface.

Serving the city for 90 years the Dublin Diving Bell is now an interpretative centre.

Joe Ryan, a retired Coast Guard, will bring the story of the diving bell to life in his illustrated lecture. This is the first in a series of exciting lectures at the Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club Spring Talk Series.

After the talk Neil O’Hagan, Chief Executive of Atlantic Youth Trust, will give an update on the progress of Ireland’s new youth training tall ship.

The lecture will take place at the Poolbeg Yacht Club at 8pm in Ringsend  on the 8th of February and will be in support of Ireland’s new youth training tall ship.
